A recent source survey stated how auto companies are turning their businesses to a software company. Just like that, today, the German car manufacturing auto mobile company, Volkswagen debuts Car-Net system, an app for Apple Watch. The VW’s previous car models were having Car-Net system that alerts and locks car remotely using fobs or pooping the trunk as we walk out of the door.

The apple watch is a wearable gadget, wore on our wrist, and provides a functionality of unlocking or locking car remotely from any location. The app will be connected with the VW’s Car-Net system that tracks the location and driving speed.

The new Volkswagen’s Apple Watch app will be an addition to its Car-Net system that already works through an iOS app on the iPhone devices. The app will allow users to access their car remotely and tracks the location via GPS, and additionally, it allows us to set speed and boundary alerts.

The VW’s Apple Watch app’s nifty features are extremely commendable. It works like a remote control for climate settings, sends a notification to watch in case, you have forgotten to close car’s window, or left it open. The app’s smart feature displays a map showing the direction in which you have parked your car.

The app allows users to set a minor alarm setting, if the user feels it’s a tiresome job to locate the car. This nifty feature of application is beneficiary for parents, to view and monitor their teen’s top driving speed. It sends a notification (alerts) in the watch in case, the teen breaches from a pre-set geo-fencing boundary area, or driving speed. Moreover, the app has an ability to check fuel on gasoline and TDI clean diesel engines.

Till now, the company has not displayed its app’s screenshots public. However, the company has unveiled a few screenshots of the app that show location mapping, screen display temperature, and car battery charger indicator. The company has confirmed that users can remotely lock and unlock their car’s door, can set boundary alerts, and speed setting by using this app.

The fall suit of the Car-Net features will be available on the selected VW’s trims of 2014, and later CC, Bettle , Passat, Tiguan, EOS, and jetta models, and also available on VW’s trims of 2015, and later Golf GTI, Golf, Golf sportwagen, Golf R, and E-Gold models.

Volkswagen has promised to make Apple Watch app’s nifty feature soon available of VW’s models. The company hasn’t announced the date when the app will be downloaded from app store.

For decades, VW Co. has come up with something new and creative in their car models, and now it has tapped on the needs of millions of people with its remarkable wearable application. Although, we have seen this creative functionality of locking cars remotely in many different companies’ car models, the Volkswagen Car-Net app for Apple Watch leaves a tremendous mark.
