Snapchat Discover surprised the users by its latest seasonal offering. Millennials, more so than ever, are looking forward to social media for their regular dose of creative inspiration and trending news. Whether you skim through Instagram posts before walking out of bed or scroll Pinterest boards during your work schedule, everything that you wish to know is always available right at your fingertips. A startup company Brit + Co has made its debut on Snapchat Channel as a ‘Pop-up’. During the month of December, for two weeks, the media startup will be sharing all colorful, holiday-related, and creative contents regarding crafts, festive DIY projects, Christmas jingles, and baking on Snapchat Discover. This will be the first ever Snapchat’s holiday channel.

Each and every daily edition will comprise of a variety of DIY themes. The Snapchat Channel icon will also change every day, keeping up with the theme. While almost all the content will be similar to the videos and projects that are maker-oriented on the official website of the company. The channel will also promote shop of Brit + Co, which sells DIY kits, gifts, and classes.

Founder and CEO of Brit + Co, Brit Morin said that Snapchat Discover is an experiment, “We care much more about engagement than we do about overall reach, a lot of people look at Snapchat and just see big numbers of users but we’re most excited about engagement.

Today, Brit Morin’s company unveiled their channel becoming the first ever publisher to create a channel based on holiday-theme for a social network. Everything readers of the DIY website have come to love about it will be available now in a fun and snackable experience over a mobile. Targeted at a millennial audience and teen, the content on the DIY website delivers an inspiring and fresh take on enjoying with creativity, style, and humor. The ad experiences and content are uniquely designed with engaging and shareable illustrations, vignettes, and videos for Snapchat Discover.

Google also came forward and has partnered with the DIY Company on the effort, and the tech behemoth has made 17 advertisements for the channel. Every ad will highlight the Google app and will revolve around queries, which Google describes as very common nowadays, for example, “What is a persimmon?” or “how to make a cupcake?

Although the company, currently has no plans to stick around Snapchat Channel after the holiday season ends, but they will definitely consider it as an opportunity in the near future.

So the holiday fun has just started! As soon as you recover from your long term turkey coma, grab your mobile and open Snapchat. What can you possibly expect? How about fetching a genius hack for those leftovers from Thanksgiving into burgers and pizza? How about few tips for picking out your favorite Christmas tree?
