iPad 3 Due in 2012
The evidence comes from sources within Apple's supply chain, who say that OEM production of the iPad 2 will remain high at 14-15 million units in the fourth quarter of 2011, but will decline to 4-5 million units in the first quarter of 2012, paving the way for the launch of the new iPads. Production volume will be in the 9.5-9.8 million unit range during the first quarter of 2012 for the iPad 3, which will begin in January.
