Despite these trends, Mercedes-Benz aims to retain its brand image of a luxury car manufacturer. And with the launch of each car of this German company, the features just get comfier and appealing. The company keeps investing in luxury sedans even if the trends in the automobile market get updated. Recent studies suggest that the sales of two-door sports cars in the U.S. are declining as people are opting for the luxury SUVs. But the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is confident about its mid-size luxury sedan and aims to continue being a leader in the luxury segment.
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class coupe is a two-door version of the classic four-door E-Class sedan. The company claims that this model will consist of the most advanced design and dynamics so far among all its luxury sedans. Even though it’s an updated version of the E-Class sedan, every exterior part of the car has its own distinctive design. The car will roll out on the streets soon probably in this June in Australia. The two-door car is ironically significantly larger than the four-door predecessor. Before this, Mercedes has also launched two-door versions of the large S-Class and compact C-Class. Currently, this next generation E-Class coupe is on display at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class specs
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class coupe is lower, longer, and wider than the previous model. The wheelbase of the vehicle is shortened to increase its agility. This type of design gives an athletic shape to it without looking aggressive. A distinctive feature in terms of design is its supporting pillar which does not interrupt the frameless windows. This gives the car a sleeker and modern appearance. It consists of a 329-horspower, 3.0-liter V6 Biturbo engine. It has a nine-speed automatic transmission which shifts smoothly, making driving more fun and smoother. Inside the E-Class coupe is a 12.3-inch display screen which offers crisp graphics.
It also has a second screen of 8.4-inch which assists the driver in finding key information faster. It is situated in the driver’s direct field of vision, providing a cockpit-like experience. A unique feature is its ambient lighting lined inside the cabin which is available in 64 shades. It compromises on the leg space in the two back seats as it is a two-door version. The steering wheel has touch control buttons which allow the driver to control the functioning by simply swiping through it. The boot space is 425 liters, which is smaller than the conventional model. There is no official announcement of its price, but the Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be available speculatively starting with $96,000.
