Taiwanese electronics maker Asus officially unveiled not just one but three ZenFone 3 models, the Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Deluxe and the Zenfone 3 Ultra during the Computex 2016 event in Taipei.
All three handsets are the most premium-looking phones the company has ever come out with major upgrades in terms of build quality. The devices sport a full-metal unibody design complete with all the essentials that are expected from a flagship smartphone.
First up is the Zenfone 3, the most affordable offering out of the three models. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panels on its front and back sides with a metal frame. The device features a 5.5-inch LCD screen and a Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The phone also has a huge 3,000mAh battery, a 16-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and a fingerprint scanner. It is also equipped with a single USB Type-C 2.0 port and is available in gold, blue, black, and white.
Zenfone 3 Deluxe
The Zenfone 3 Deluxe comes with an aluminum unibody design with invisible antenna lines, which according to Asus is the world first. The screen is a bigger 5.7-inch 1080p OLED panel which has a 1080p full HD resolution. Under the hood, the device features a Snapdragon 820 series processor, 6GB of RAM and has an internal storage option of up to 256GB along with microSD card support. Similar to the Zenfone 3, the Deluxe also sports a 3,000mAh battery. The major difference with the Deluxe's battery is that it has support for QuickCharge 3.0 through its USB Type-C 3.0 port. On the camera front, the handset features an impressive 23-megapixel rear-facing camera and has dual SIM card support. Color options include gray, silver, and gold.
Zenfone 3 Ultra
The Zenfone 3 Ultra comes with a huge 6.8-inch1080p full HD LCD screen. The device is intended for multimedia consumption with a PixelWorks iris2+ TV grade processor, two speakers below and DTS Headphone:X 7.1 surround sound. Inside there's a Snapdragon 652, up to 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and a much bigger 4,600mAh battery. The handset also comes with the same 23-megapixel camera as the Deluxe, USB Type -C 3.0 with DisplayPort support, which Asus describes as a 4K TV-grade video processor. The device is available in gray, silver, and pink.
All the three devices will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow straight out of the box.
The regular Zenfone 3 is priced at $249, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe at $499 and the Zenfone 3 Ultra costs $549. The company hasn't yet provided information on release dates.
